AFCSM System Phased Project Development

Phase 1:
Project potential is identified and design parameters established for initial design/feasibility analysis and rough budget.

If initial economic analysis warrants, respirometric sample analysis is performed. This will provide a “snap shot” confirmation of compatibility with AFC technology, a preliminary PFD, envelope footprint and a plus/minus 40% project budget.

Phase 2:
If the footprint fits the site and the plus/minus 40% budget meets the economic objectives, we move to detailed AFC system design.

A two to four month bench pilot is often warranted. This will allow for reactor acclimation and understanding of wastewater characteristics over a representative timeframe. It will provide the data required to determined design loadings and operational strategy for chemical treatment. At this stage, we will establish performance guarantee parameters, provide a PFD, unit operation sizing, mass balance, and plus/minus 25% project budget (full installed system and O&M cost).

Phase 3:
With the plus/minus 25% budget meeting project hurdle points, we move to formal process guarantee and technology licensing, P&ID development, equipment selection and specification, site specific layout and development of bid documents to obtain firm equipment prices, installation prices, and project timetable. This gives us a +/- 10% budget or firm price if turnkey.

Phase 4:
We now move into the construction/installation phase. This could be done in a number of ways from full turnkey by a single source to full owner run and managed purchasing and construction.

Phase 5:
Mechanical and process start-up, operator training and full system commissioning.

Phase 6:
Contract process “After Care Program” by PMC BioTec Company to provide ongoing process optimization and operational guidance.
