Engineering and Treatability Services

The combined experience of PMCB’s staff of environmental and chemical engineers represents over a century of effort applying and innovating engineering solutions to environmental waste treatment and remediation challenges. The unique combination of theoretical, design, and operational expertise has resulted in numerous awards presented to clients for successful field solutions. The pace of innovation continues as new patents are on file to add to the 23 patents already credited to the firm’s engineers.

PMCB’s on-site treatability laboratory supports concept and design activities in environmental engineering. The laboratory is a 2,200-square-foot facility that contains bench-scale reactor units, large pilot-scale equipment, computerized aerobic and anaerobic respirometric equipment for wastewater and sludge treatment and for soil remediation, and a large array of analytical equipment for performing this treatability work and for performing detailed process-oriented chemical, physical, and biological testing.

Current projects in the laboratory involve conventional treatability work as well as the research and development of new technological systems for low cost chemical treatment, biomass-to energy conversions, and biological sludge reduction.
